Problem-Solving Process & Tools (PPT)

As part of the overall implementation of Kaizen (continuous improvement), there is a strong need to create quality improvement teams to solve high priority problems and improve critical business processes within their control. To make their effort productive, they have to learn and apply a logical problem-solving process using simple but powerful tools that have passed the test of experience.

Objectives: In this 2-day seminar, the participants will be able to (1) learn the concept of process waste; (2) identify clearly a problem; (3) draw a flowchart showing the problem-creating process; (4) use a cause‑and‑effect diagram to identify the most probable causes; (5) validate the most probable causes using checksheets, histograms, Pareto analysis, and scatter diagrams; and (6) formulate solutions and implementation.

Agenda:

  • Brainstorming
  • Analytical and Creative Thinking
  • Problem Definition and Dimensions
  • The Concept of Process Waste
