Reliability Maintenance (REM)

Maintenance is a risk management practice used to maximize production and reduce loss and waste. Selecting a successful maintenance strategy requires good knowledge of equipment failure behavior and maintenance management practices. The right mix can be selected only through maintenance strategic planning paying particular attention to equipment condition. The success is achieved when there is strong commitment, collaborative effort, transparent support and delivering shared responsibilities from every department and its function level starting from the top executive decision maker.

This one day seminar takes you through the factors which affect equipment performance and service life, the maintenance strategies and expected results, metrics/measures of performance and the purpose and role of Reliability Committee (Best Practice) organization in promoting and tracking performance improvement in a continuous basis.

Equipment reliability performance can be measured with metrics installed in each essential part of the operating system; each one is directly linked to support the corporate mission/ manufacturing objective.

The concept of “Apollo Root Cause Analysis” will also be discussed as tool for analysis and finding effective solution to stop costly downtimes.

Objectives: At the end of the seminar, the participants would have acquired the following:

  1. Clear understanding on the selecting the “Right Mix” of Maintenance Strategy
  2. Appreciate metrics formulation to measure equipment performance
  3. Develop constructive analysis to mitigate chronic equipment failure
  4. Derive benefits from organizing the Reliability Committee (best practice)
  5. Finding effective solution through application of “Root Cause Analysis”-the Apollo Method.

Agenda:

  • Maintenance strategies & benefits
  • Equipment failure (How, Why, When)
  • Reliability Committee (Best practice)
  • 6 Functional Pillars of Maintenance Management
  • Metrics as Measures Of Performance
  • Concept of “Apollo Root Cause Analysis”

Who should attend: Plant Managers, Operation Managers, Production, Maintenance (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Methods, Engineering) Managers, Purchasing or Warehouse Managers and Line or Area Supervisors. It will be beneficial also for the plant engineers (Inspectors, Planners, Schedulers, mechanical, improvement) to attend as the concept involves cross-functional teamwork.
